Following the announcement of the locally assembled (CKD) version of the Proton eMas 7 EV that emerges from the Tanjong Malim plant, the eMas 7 CKD has now arrived in showrooms, from which we can now bring you a live image gallery.
As with the fully imported (CBU) version, the locally assembled eMas 7 EV is offered in two variants; the Prime, at RM103,800, and the Premium, at RM119,800. With the limited-time RM4,000 rebate, this brings prices to RM99,800 for the Prime, and RM115,800 for the Premium in Peninsular Malaysia.
Certain elements distinguish the locally assembled eMas 7 from the fully imported version, namely the Hangzhou city graphic at the base of the CBU model’s windscreen that is no longer present on the locally assembled model.
Another change is the VIN plate at the base of the B-pillar, which now originates from Proton, rather than that of the CBU car that carries the Zhejiang Geely Automobile text. Here, the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the CKD model begins with “PL1”, whereas the VIN on the CBU example begins with “L6”.
Equipment updates for the eMas 7 EV in its transition into a locally assembled model include the addition of a powered tailgate on the Prime variant, while the Premium variant gets upgrades to its ADAS suite. The tonneau cover introduced last August continues to be present.
The updates to its ADAS capabilities include new hardware, which means that the new driving assistance features will not be applicable to older versions of the eMas 7. New hardware includes three millimetre-wave radar units, located in front at the centre and corners of the vehicle.

In both Prime and Premium variants of the locally assembled eMas 7, ADAS is comprised of intelligent cruise control, ACC, AEB, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning and prevention, emergency lane keep assist, rear collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear cross traffic braking, lane change safety warning, door open warning, traffic sign recognition, and leading vehicle departure alert.
The ADAS suite on the Premium brings evasive manoeuvre assist (upon triggering AEB, the vehicle will steer to avoid a collision), front cross traffic alert, and active lane change assist (activate the turn signal, and upon checking that the intended lane is clear of traffic, the vehicle will carry out the lane change automatically).
Powertrain for the eMas 7 EV CKD remains as before, with both variants getting a front axle motor that outputs 160 kW (218 PS) and 320 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds. The Prime gets a 49.52 kWh Aegis short-blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for a WLTP-rated range of 345 km, while the Premium variant gets the larger 60.22 kWh Aegis short-blade LFP battery that offers up to 410 km (WLTP).
In terms of charging, the eMas 7 Prime takes up to 80 kW DC charging, while the Premium gets a slightly higher 100 kW DC rating; both attain a 30-80% charge time of 20 minutes. For home charging, the eMas 7 takes up to 11 kW AC, bringing a 10-100% time of 4.9 hours in the Prime, and 6.1 hours in the Premium.
The Prime rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels shod in 225/55R18 tyres, while the Premium gets upsized to 19-inch alloy wheels in 235/50R19 tyres. Suspension for both versions are MacPherson struts in front, with a multi-link setup at the rear.
Inside, the Prime gets a 15.4-inch 2.5K-resolution touchscreen display, while stepping up to the Premium brings a 16-speaker Flyme audio system, head-up display, and ventilated front seats.
Exterior colours for the 2026 eMas 7 CKD are Lithium White, Turquoise Green, Slate Grey, Platinum Silver, Quartz Rose, and Obsidian Black, while the interior gets upholstery in Indigo Blue. For examples of the Premium variant ordered in Turquoise Green and Quartz Rose, the Alabaster White interior upholstery colour can be optioned.
For the locally assembled Proton eMas 7, Pro-Net is offering the Power Pack+ that consists of a complimentary 7 kW home charger worth RM1,500, a V2L adapter worth RM500, an unlimited internet data plan worth RM1,800, a six-year, unlimited mileage warranty, and an eight-year, 160,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery and related components.
