The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss is the more capable off-road variant in the Silverado EV range. It adds a lift, all-terrain hardware, dual motor 4WD, and up to 725 hp with the Max Range pack.
The combination of off-road capability and up to 478 miles of estimated range places it among electric trucks targeting buyers in America who need towing, payload, and off-pavement capability.
We recently had a chance to check out the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss in person in the Habanero Orange shade, and here are our first impressions.
Design

At the front, the Trail Boss has a unique front bumper design with red tow hooks, a high-approach angle, and underbody skid panels. While the standard WT and LT bumpers are lower to the ground, the Trail Boss bumper is cut higher to allow the truck to climb steep obstacles without scraping.
Moving to the sides, prominent “Trail Boss” lettering is featured on the C-pillars. The electric truck also features a factory-installed 2-inch suspension lift, giving it a significantly taller profile compared to the standard variant. This, along with the 35-inch all-terrain tires, results in a 24 percent increase in ground clearance.
At the back, the black and chrome Chevrolet logo replaces the gold logo on the Trail Boss. Color options include White Sands, Polar White Tricoat, Magnus Gray Matte Metallic, and additional returning finishes.
Interior

The cabin incorporates a unique Trail Boss theme, featuring an exclusive “Artemis” upholstery, which is an earthy, dark olive/brown tone and Black interior theme paired with red accent stitching throughout the seats, dashboard, and door panels.
The Trail Boss uses durable Evotex seating that is easy to wipe down. Like the LT, it features heated and ventilated seats, but the design of the seat upholstery with the Artemis color blocks and red stitching is unique to this trim. Cargo box volume is 57.5 cubic feet, and the frunk provides 10.7 cubic feet of storage.

Features include a Multi-Flex Tailgate, a Multi-Flex Midgate, 14-inch diagonal Head-Up Display, 17.7-inch touchscreen, and an 11-inch digital instrument panel.
Specifications

The Trail Boss is available with two battery options. The Extended Range pack carries an EPA-estimated 410 miles of driving range, while the Max Range pack carries a GM-estimated 478 miles of driving range.
Dual-motor electronic 4WD is standard. With the Extended Range pack, output is 625 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. With the Max Range pack, output rises to 725 hp and 775 lb-ft.
The Trail Boss is rated to tow up to 12,500 pounds and carries up to 2,100 pounds based on preliminary GM testing. Drive modes include Normal, Off-Road and Terrain with the Sidewinder, with terrain mode allowing improved low speed control with sharper 4-Wheel Steer and enabling diagonal movement at low speeds by turning all four wheels in the same direction.
DC fast charging capability varies by battery pack, with Chevrolet listing 300 kW for the Extended Range pack, and 350 kW for the Max Range pack. GM estimates up to 100 miles of driving range added in 10 minutes under suitable conditions. Level Two charging supports up to 19.2 kW on compatible home equipment.
