Many Great Cars Selling Saturday
We were in Greensboro this weekend to cover the action at the big GAA Classic Summer Auction 2024 for top quality collector and specialty cars and trucks. With inflation on the rise and extra money at a premium, we didn’t know what to expect when we came here to Greensboro to cover the big GAA Classic Summer Auction. The results will be an indication of how healthy the collector car market is right now in the U.S.
Here are some of the top vehicles sold here on Saturday at the summer edition of the GAA Classic Auction.
The high point of the Saturday sale happened when George and Megan Shinn sold their 2007 Mustang GT Stryker in a charity auction to benefit Operation Heal Our Patriots. The Samaritan’s Purse, an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization run by Franklin Graham, Billy Graham’s son, ministers to military veterans who are having a hard time adapting back into the “world.” This Stryker Mustang was built to honor American patriots. It was a heartfelt moment when one buyer got the top bid on this car at $125,000. He thought that was not enough, so he told the auctioneer to “sell it again.” They did, and got another $100,000 from the second sale. Then dozens of bidders offered additional donations to the Operation Heal Our Patriots ministry. In all, they raised over $467,000 with this sale. It was quite an inspiration to see the patriotic zeal of the auction goers.

The action really picked up here on Friday at the GAA Classic Summer Auction 2024 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Cars were selling for good money, and we recognized many of the classic car dealers from around the country who were scooping up bargains.

Cars-On-Line.com is reporting the action here at the summer edition of the GAA Classic Auction at The Automobile Palace in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is where they hold the GAA Classic Auction three times a year. The summer edition began on Thursday, July 25 and will run through Saturday, July 27. Our readers love to review the results of this auction because so many true “blue collar classic cars” are sold here. These are the “bread and butter” classics, and when they sell here you note the prices. That’s how you measure the health of the collector car market. With the economy taking a dive and inflation rearing its ugly head here in the U.S., will it effect what collector cars will sell for? We think that question was answered here in Greensboro this weekend.
The whole collector car community might be breathing a little easier today after a really good Friday sale at the summer edition of the GAA Classic Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina.
