Ford is expanding the capability and configuration options to the 2027 Ford Super Duty lineup adding new off-road packages, additional Tremor availability and a premium Platinum trim for chassis cab models.
The updates come as Ford continues to target what it calls the “Essential Economy” — the millions of businesses and workers in industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, and logistics that rely on heavy-duty trucks every day.
According to Ford, feedback from contractors, fleet managers, and owner-operators played a key role in shaping the updates, which aim to provide more factory-built capability across the Super Duty lineup.
Tremor Package Expands to More Affordable Models

For 2027, the Tremor Off-Road Package will be available across all Super Duty models, including the more affordable XL trim paired with the STX Appearance Package.
Previously reserved for higher trims, Tremor brings serious off-road hardware to work-focused trucks. The package includes 35-inch tires, a factory suspension lift, electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, and Rock Crawl Mode.
Ford says expanding Tremor availability responds to customers who were modifying work trucks for off-road use themselves.
“With Tremor now available on XL with the STX Appearance Package, customers can access serious off-road capability directly from the factory,” Ford said in a statement.
Tremor Now Available With an 8-Foot Bed

Another long-requested feature arrives for 2027: Tremor models with an 8-foot bed.
Since the Tremor package debuted on Super Duty in 2020, many customers asked for the off-road setup on trucks configured for maximum work capability. For 2027, Ford will offer Tremor on Crew Cab models with the 176-inch wheelbase and long box.
That configuration combines Tremor’s off-road equipment with a larger cargo bed and a 48-gallon fuel tank, the largest available on Super Duty.
The change creates the most flexible Tremor lineup yet, with both 6¾-foot and 8-foot bed options now available.
New XL Off-Road Package Adds Factory 35-Inch Tires

Ford is also adding a new XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package, aimed at fleet operators and businesses that want enhanced off-road capability without cosmetic upgrades or expensive interior options.
The package includes:
- Factory ride height increase
- 35-inch all-terrain tires
- Limited-slip front differential
- Electronic locking rear differential
- Performance shocks
- Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist
- Rock Crawl Mode
- Transfer case and fuel tank skid plates
The truck also includes a full-size 35-inch spare tire and maintains a clean exterior without graphics, allowing businesses and government fleets to apply their own branding.
Ford’s existing off-road package for XL models will remain available but will be renamed the XL Off-Road 33-Inch Tire Package, creating a two-tier option structure.
Both packages can be paired with the Ford Performance 12,000-lb Warn winch.
Platinum Trim Comes to Chassis Cab Models

For the first time, Ford will offer its Platinum trim level on Super Duty chassis cab models, including the F-350, F-450, and F-550.
The move targets owner-operators and upfitters building high-end rigs such as race transporters, luxury horse haulers, and expedition vehicles.
The Platinum trim adds premium features including:
- Platinum-grade interior materials
- Leather seating surfaces
- SYNC 4 infotainment system
Ford says the option reflects growing demand from customers investing heavily in specialized equipment mounted behind the cab.
Orders Open in May

The 2027 Ford Super Duty lineup will open for orders in May, with pricing and full specifications expected to be released closer to launch.
The updates come as the Super Duty continues its role within the Ford F-Series, which has been the best-selling truck line in the United States for 49 consecutive years, according to industry sales data.
