A supercharged V-8, race-tuned suspension, and six-piston brake calipers sound like ingredients for a potent sports car, but, in some cases the same components can work their magic on a vehicle that also has cargo-carrying capacity. The Pick of the Day is a 2008 Ford F-150 Saleen S331 SuperCrew pickup listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Scottsdale, Arizona. And there’s a kicker: It has logged only 4,089 total miles.
Since 1984, the Saleen name has become synonymous with high-performance Ford vehicles, many of which won championships in competitions via the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). But Saleen didn’t forget about trucks, and the company used the 11th-generation F-150 as a platform for extensive customization. This truck was the result of that effort.

This “S331” was modified by Saleen with exclusive exterior upgrades including color-keyed bumpers, black grille, vented hood and fenders, side skirts, and special rear bumper. The truck also comes with a power-sliding rear window. Footwork comes from a set of 23-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in 305/40 General G-Max tires.

Inside the cab, the front buckets and rear bench are upholstered in black leather with gray inserts. Features include S331 badging, power-adjustable driver seat, air conditioning, Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system, and rear-seat entertainment.

Under the hood is a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter V-8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Saleen rated output at 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, and those figures were made possible via the use of a Series VI integrated screw-type supercharger, an air-to-water intercooler, a high-flow inlet tube and filter, PowerFlash performance calibration, 2.5-inch stainless-steel dual exhaust, and 39 lb/hour fuel injectors. It’s a well-orchestrated suite of go-fast parts, indeed!
Saleen also took measures to make sure the truck handled as nicely as it looked, so the suspension received Racecraft components like Saleen-specific coil springs and revised rear shocks. Braking power was enhanced via four-wheel disc brakes with six-piston calipers up front.

Documentation accompanying the truck states that it was originally manufactured in February 2008 and issued to Galpin Ford in California as its first dealer. A letter from Team Saleen also says the truck was outfitted with the Class III Tow Package and is officially one-of-one with its exact colors and options.
Exclusivity is the name of the game with this souped-up Saleen truck! The asking price is $59,900 or best offer.
