It’s hard to believe, but it’s been about a year and a half since we introduced you to a man who’s the proud owner of the last third-generation Camaro ever built. In total, he’s owned 11 Camaros. And I bet if he sees this one, he’ll want it too: The Pick of the Day is a low-mileage 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28 listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Homestead, Florida.
“Pristine survivor with show-winning pedigree,” the listing says. “Step back into the golden era of American muscle with this stunning, low-mileage IROC-Z.”
The seller further discusses the car’s provenance: “It was proudly accepted into the 2023 Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance and the 2026 Moda Miami at the Biltmore Hotel. It has earned approximately 50 awards from local shows, including First Junior and Senior National awards from the AACA.”
The third generation (1982-92) Camaro was designed by Jerry Palmer and shared the GM F-platform with the Pontiac Firebird. The brochure for the Camaro said, “We live in a golden age of automotive excitement. Recent developments in engines, aerodynamics, lightweight materials, suspensions, and tires have made today’s performance cars accelerate, brake, and corner with a capability reserved for only the finest exotics a few years ago.”

Finished in Bright Red, the exterior features black and gray accent striping, quad headlights, fog lamps, removable T-tops, body side moldings, and integrated rear spoiler. According to the window sticker, the car was originally delivered to Frank McNally, Inc. in Flushing, Michigan with a retail price of $20,969.

Body-hugging bucket seats are upholstered in red leather. Interior features include power windows, power door locks, power seats, cruise control, air conditioning, and Delco/Bose audio system.

Under the hood is an L98 “Tuned Port Injection” 5.7-liter V-8 (225 horsepower / 330 lb-ft of torque) mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
The seller has provided a walk-around video that does a nice job of showing just how pristine the vehicle is (inside and out). It also shows a demonstration of the audio system, power equipment, and the engine at idle.
“Whether you’re adding to a collection or seeking an investment-grade muscle car that you can actually enjoy, this pristine IROC-Z checks every box,” the listing concludes.
The asking price is $55,000 or best offer. Just get it before Leonard the Camaro Guy does.
