The SEMA Show in Las Vegas is the place to go to see wild, imaginative custom builds — and that’s where we saw this Dodge Viper V10-powered 1971 Datsun 240Z. This insane combination of vintage Japanese sports car styling and modern American grunt was created by Brad Brammer, aka BradBuilds on his social media channels.

After stripping the body and interior down, he initially planned to rebuild the original 2.4-liter I-6, but he eventually set his sights on stuffing the 8.0-liter V-10 from a 2002 Dodge Viper GTS into the engine bay. Doing that and installing the Viper’s six-speed manual gearbox required a lot of alterations. So did keeping the massive engine cool and making sure this little machine had the suspension and brakes to handle all that power. BradBuilds pulled it off, creating an unforgettable machine that shows what you can do when you put your mind (and hands and tools) to it.
