The 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid is the facelifted variant of Kia’s compact hybrid SUV in North America.
Earlier this year, we got to check out its refreshed exterior, updated interior tech, and learn about the mildly revised hybrid system. Recently, we spent some time with it in the SX Prestige AWD trim in the Heritage Blue finish, and here’s what we found.
Design

The 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid features a revised front fascia with a redesigned gloss black grille that sits between connected vertically oriented headlamp housings.
LED projector lighting is exclusive to the SX Prestige, and daytime running lights that form a boomerang-style signature around the headlamps complete the front look.
From the side, the Sportage Hybrid retains its short overhangs and long wheelbase proportions. Pronounced wheel arches follow the compact SUV’s 19-inch alloy wheels with a black and machined finish exclusive on this trim.

Exclusive gloss black cladding material replaces matte plastic on the SX Prestige and is used on the lower side sill moldings, wheel arch claddings, and roof rails to lend it a more premium look.
The 2026 Sportage Hybrid features an F-shaped lighting element in the taillamps, which are connected by a black trim bar. The rear also incorporates a roof-mounted body-colored spoiler with an integrated brake light and gloss black pillar trims, creating a floating roof effect.
Interior

The dashboard of the 2026 Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige integrates a dual 12.3-inch display layout, combining a digital instrument cluster and center touchscreen with navigation as well as a head-up display exclusive to this trim.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all trims, with the SX Prestige also getting wireless phone charging and an exclusive Harman Kardon premium audio system.
The interior of the SX Prestige is finished in either a single-tone black or a dual-tone black and gray combination finished in premium SynTex material, as shown in this article.

Heating is standard on the front seats, steering wheel, and second-row outboard seats, with the front seats also getting ventilation as standard on this trim.
Specifications
The 2026 Sportage Hybrid uses a revised hybrid system combining a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engine with a 47.7 kW electric motor. The system routes power through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Kia estimates combined output at 232 hp, an increase of 5 hp over the previous model year.

Front-wheel drive is standard, with the LX trim remaining front-wheel drive only. All-wheel drive is available on S, EX, X-Line, and SX Prestige trims, with towing capacity rated at 2,000 lb.
Standard systems include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle detection, front and rear parking distance warning, and hands-on detection for the steering wheel.
