As Genesis’ first high-performance luxury car, the GV60 Magma carries some of Hyundai Motor Group’s most advanced aerodynamics and engineering to a production model.
The performance EV is headed to U.S. dealers this summer, and we traveled to the 2026 Busan Mobility Show to check out the car. Here are some interesting observations from our experience.
Design

Compared to the everyday version, the GV60 Magma sports a distinctive front bumper with a new three-hole structure, a canard wing garnish, and vertical side air inlets for enhanced airflow and cooling. Gloss black molding and dark metal accents add to its sportier styling.
On the sides, the GV60 Magma shows a more planted stance with its wider proportions, thanks to wide fenders and a 20 mm (0.8 in.) lower height. Newly designed air breather garnishes in the fenders direct air from the quarter garnish air breathers to optimize airflow around the body.

The 21-inch forged wheels wrapped in 275/35R21 Pirelli P Zero summer tires are also exclusive to the GV60 Magma. Front monoblock calipers and large-diameter 400 mm discs, along with rear brakes featuring GG-rated high-friction materials, provide improved braking performance.
At the rear, the styling and aerodynamic modifications include a black brand inscription, a black diffuser under the bumper, and a winglet-style spoiler with increased surface area.
Interior

Visual changes in the interior include the use of Chamude, a suede-like material that gives the cabin a performance-oriented character. In person, not only do the seat surfaces feel softer, but they also give the whole cabin a performance-inspired look.
Genesis has also used gloss black and dark metal finishes on several buttons, switches, and emblems.

The GV60 Magma further gets a unique three-spoke steering wheel with a black Genesis logo, while the instrument cluster features Magma-specific graphics, a unique layout, and additional performance-related metrics.
Specifications

The Genesis GV60 Magma sports two motors. The front motor produces 175 kW (235 hp) and 370 Nm (273 lb.-ft.) of torque, while the rear motor develops 303 kW (406 hp) and 420 Nm (310 lb.-ft.) of torque in boost mode.
In total, there’s up to 478 kW (641 hp) and up to 790 Nm (583 lb.-ft.) of torque available in boost mode. The GV60 Magma hits 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 264 km/h (164 mph).

Besides an uprated powertrain, it boasts an extensively modified suspension setup. Genesis has redesigned the lower arms, hub carriers, and link structures to improve precision and agility and also reduced the roll center to increase tire grip.
A new stroke-sensing Electronic Control Suspension (ECS) technology adjusts the damping force as per road conditions to keep the car stable even on poor roads and uneven surfaces.
Genesis has reinforced the body with additional structural adhesive, extra welding points, and L-brackets in the wheel housings to improve rigidity and stability.

An 84 kWh battery pack powers the two electric motors, and according to WLTP, it delivers a range of 425 km (264 miles). The EPA-estimated range has yet to be released, but we expect it to be around 225 miles, which could be sufficient for a trip from New York City to Boston.
Price & Availability
We expect the Genesis GV60 Magma to be priced at around USD 75,000 before options in the U.S. It will be available as an MY2027 vehicle in limited numbers at select Genesis dealers.
