In the coming period, we will be seeing a number of carmakers launching new diesel SUVs in the country. In total, there will be a total of 8 new diesel SUVs which will hit the Indian market soon. So, if you have been specifically waiting for a diesel-powered SUV, then you might want to hold on for a bit. Here are the details of the upcoming diesel SUVs in India.
MG Majestor – Coming this month
Starting off the list with one of the boldest and biggest SUVs, the MG Majestor. This SUV has already been unveiled in India, and later this month it will be officially launched in the country. MG has confirmed that the Majestor deliveries will begin from May. Pricing is expected to start from around Rs 50 lakh, which will make it one of the most expensive diesel SUVs in the segment.
Under the bonnet of this SUV will be a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine making 213 bhp and 479 Nm. It will come paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of features, it will get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, JBL sound system, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Once launched, it will rival the Toyota Fortuner, which has been the segment champion for a long time now.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift – Later this year
Mahindra is not slowing down anytime soon, and one of its biggest updates this year will be the facelifted Scorpio-N. This SUV is expected to make its debut around August 2026. The biggest changes will be in terms of design and features. The new Scorpio-N facelift will get a new grille, sleeker LED headlamps, updated bumpers, and new 19-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, expect a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and ADAS. Mechanically, it will continue with the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, so no major changes there. As for the pricing, it will most likely remain in the range of Rs 14 to 26 lakh.
