Collector cars come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. By now, you’ve probably heard of Plum Crazy, a popular shade that was used on the Challenger. But have you ever heard of Plum Foolish? The Pick of the Day is a 1968 Chevrolet C10 pickup in such a color, and it is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
“This truck is a frame-off restomod with high attention to detail,” the listing says. “Everything on the vehicle is restored or new with nothing left to do.”
The second generation of the General Motors C/K pickups, produced from model years 1967-72 as the “Action Line,” came with a durable ladder-style frame and established a reputation as hardworking utility vehicles. They had an independent coil-sprung front suspension that gave them an uncharacteristically smooth ride, too.

This half-ton C10 has an eight-foot long-bed configuration, and its exterior features include chrome bumpers, cowl-induction hood, dual side mirrors, sliding rear window, and 17-inch Cragar S/S wheels wrapped in staggered Falken tires. The bed floor is lined with white oak planks. Lowering springs give the truck an athletic stance. The seller says, “The paint is show-quality, with lots of gloss and a mild metal flake.”

We can tell! Just look at those reflective properties!

The interior of the cab has been refurbished with late-model gray leather bucket seats, center console with cupholders, B&M automatic shifter, chrome-finished tilt steering column, and manual crank windows. The audio system features a RetroSound radio head unit, 12-disc changer, Focal amplifier, subwoofer, and newer speakers. Sound-deadening insulation has been added throughout, and of course, the face of the dash is finished in that fun shade of Plum Foolish to tie it in with the exterior.

Under the hood is a 350ci V-8 that has been bored .040 over and features 10:1 pistons, high-performance cam, aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, headers, and 750cfm carburetor. A 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels.

Aside from the color, I don’t see anything “foolish” about the truck at all. It’s a well-thought-out build, and according to the listing, it’s an award-winner, too: When first shown, this restomod received the Classic Trucks’ “Outstanding Truck Award” (1949-72) and an “Outstanding in Class” award at the World of Wheels show in Winnipeg.
The asking price is $45,000 or best offer.
